The student source of the Open University of China has features of large scale in number ,and wide geographical distribution in students' hometowns ,and the students tend to choose majors from a diversified range of disciplines .This paper takes the data of student source of under-graduates majored in open education of Open University of China in 2013 as research samples to an-alyze the correlation between students' choices of majors and geographical distribution of their hometowns so as to find some internal law .That is students from central China ,north China ,east China and south China tend to choose Economics ,Management ,and Education as their majors and those from northwest and southwest tend to choose Literature and Medicine . While those from Northeast tend to choose Law and Engineering as their majors .The findings could have some refer-ence value for the settings of disciplines and majors in the Open University of China ,so that it could be more scientific and effective .At the same time ,these findings could provide some guidance a-bout major selection for college freshmen .%国家开放大学生源具有规模大、地域分布广、专业选择多元化等特征。本文以国家开放大学开放教育本科2013年生源数据为样本，对其专业选择和地域分布做相关性分析，发现其内在的规律，即华中、华北、华东、华南四个地区的学生更倾向于选择经济学、管理学和教育学的专业，西北地区、西南地区的学生更倾向于选择文学与医学专业，东北地区学生比较偏向于选择法学和工学专业。这一发现能够对国家开放大学的学科与专业设置提供一定的参考意见，促使国家开放大学的专业设置更具科学性与有效性。同时，为新生在专业选择方面提供一定的指导意见。
