文化自觉指的是生活在一定文化历史圈子的人对其文化有自知之明,并对其发展历程和未来有充分的认识。换言之,是文化的自我觉醒、自我反省、自我创建。当代中国进入了全面建设小康社会的关键时期和深化改革开放、加快转变经济发展方式的攻坚时期,文化越来越成为民族凝聚力和创造力的重要源泉,越来越成为综合国力竞争的重要因素、越来越成为经济社会发展的重要支撑。而在当前,我国文化发展同社会经济发展和人民日益增长的精神文化需求还不完全适应,面临诸多矛盾和问题。因此,新时期文化自觉具有十分的重要性和紧迫性。%Cultural awareness means that people living in a certain cultural and historical circle have good knowledge of the culture in their own circle, and have good understanding of its history and future.
