The Outer Temples were built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, along with the historical process of Qing Dynasty’s building of an uniifed multi-ethnic country. The Outer Temples played an important role in unifying ethnic minorities, consolidating stability in border areas, and safeguarding national unity. As the speciifc carrier of the religious policy of appeasement, the Outer Temples are considered as the model of the Qing Dynasty’s ethnic policy from growth to maturity. This paper makes an inquiry from the construction process of the Outer Temples and its connected aspects, and hopes to contribute to the study of Qing Dynasty’s ethnic and religious policies, and to understanding and the development of local cultural industries in Chengde.%外八庙修建于清朝康乾盛世之时,伴随着清王朝统一多民族国家的历史进程,它在清王朝团结少数民族、巩固边疆稳定、捍卫国家统一等方面都挥了重要的作用。作为清廷实行宗教怀柔政策的具体载体,它被认为是清朝民族政策由发展到成熟的微型模体。本文就外八庙的修建过程与之相关联系,分别从外八庙修建背景的演变过程、涵盖对象的演变过程、建筑风格的演变过程等角度入手,对此问题展开相关探究分析,以期对研究有清一代的民族宗教政策以及了解并发展承德地方文化产业有所裨益。
