There is a strong theological background in the famous space -time controversy between Leib-niz and the Newtonian , and in fact the issue of natural theology is the focus of The Leibniz -Clarke Correspon-dence .This paper attempts to illustrate the theological root of their space -time controversy from three as-pects, namely God′s omniscience , God′s immensity and eternity , divine free will , and offer an evaluation of its historical meaning and influence .%莱布尼茨与牛顿学派关于时空观的著名论战有着深厚的神学背景，实际上自然神学问题才是《莱布尼茨与克拉克论战书信集》的核心所在。莱布尼茨与牛顿学派时空观对立的神学根源可归结到上帝的全知、上帝的全在与永恒以及上帝的自由意志三方面。该论战具有重要的历史意义和当代影响。
