Ethnic theory and policy education is an important part of higher education in China. It might be a organic system, in which teaching by curriculum is supplemented by extracurricular activities. Thus, facing characteristics of ethnic questions in contemporary period, universities might adapt to the current demands and development to improve ethnic theory and policy education system positively. They might enhance the status of ethnic theory and policy education, coordinate the distinctiveness and consistency in textbooks, encourage faculty development to raise teaching standards, and attach importance to the establishment and improvement of the auxiliary mechanism.%在高校正确开展党的民族理论政策教育是高等教育中至为重要的环节。高校的民族理论政策教育应该是一个以课程教学为主体，课外和其他相关活动为补充的有机整体。因此，针对当前民族工作新的阶段性特征，高校应适应形势变化，顺应时代发展，满足现实需求，积极作为，努力完善民族理论政策教育体系。当前的努力应着眼于确立民族理论政策课程教学的稳固地位、处理好教材编写中统一性和特殊性的关系、加强师资队伍建设提高教学水平、注重教学辅助机制的建立和完善等方面。
