Wang Niansun is the most important representative of textual criticism in the period of Qianlong and Jiaqing. He corrects errors in the classic books according to false notes and redundant notes, which becomes later a regular way of textual criticism. Reading Journal is the best reflection of Wang Niansun's textual criticism achievement.
