基于对江西省师范类高校32位英语专业教师的调查，分析了英语专业教材对教师专业发展的作用。分析表明，目前英语专业教师对教材使用能够促进其英语语言和教学能力的提高具有较强的意识，但由于对教材与教师职业发展的关系认识不深，导致其对教材相关研究的科研意识不强。针对这一问题提出相关建议，以促进英语专业教材建设和教师专业发展。%Based on a questionnaire survey of 32 English teachers, this paper analyzes the influence of English teaching materials on teachers＇ professional development. The research shows that teachers realize English teaching materials are related to the improvement of teacherg language proficiency and language teaching skills. However, they know little of the relation between teaching materials and teacher career development, which should be further developed. And in the end, the paper puts forward some advices on English mate- rials construction and teachers＇professional development.
