唐君毅先生于1957年进行的跨越亚、欧、美的环球游学及自我反思是他成为独特思想家的重要事件之一。这一事件对整个现代新儒家的发展具有独特的思想意义、学术意义和文化史意义：一方面，它直接催生了《中国文化与世界》宣言，促成了现代新儒家群体正式登上历史舞台，在一定程度上改变了中国现代思想文化和学术谱系；另一方面，它导致了唐先生个人思想学术方向的转向和深化，促进了其个人在哲学层面汇通中、西、印三大文化，建构“三极并立”的哲学思想体系，使他真正成为一个世界级的大思想家、大哲学家。%Mr Tang Junyi’ s global travel across Asia, Europe, America and self-reflection in 1957 is one of the important events for him to become a unique thinker.It had a distinctive ideological, academic and cul-tural significance for the development of modern new Confucianism.On the one hand, it directly led to the declaration of The Chinese Culture and the World, as a result of which the modern new Confucian group offi-cially boarded the stage of history, and changed the modern Chinese ideological, cultural and academic line-age to a certain extent;on the other hand, it led to the steering of direction and deepening of Mr.Tang’ s academic thought, promoting him to accomodate his philosophical theory with Chinese, western and India culture and hereby construct a huge system of philosophy including Tai ji, Huang ji and Ren ji, securing him as a world-class thinker and philosopher.
