〔Abstract〕With the development of new urbanization in China and the gradual improvement of public cultural service system public libraries in small towns are becoming more and more important. This paper analyzes the current situation and characteristics of the development of public libraries of small towns in China. Then it studies the principles and methods of determining the service location and puts forward the basic service orientation of the six aspects of the public library in the small town. The research results have certain guiding signiifcance for planning and construction of public library in small town.%随着我国新型城镇化建设的不断深入和公共文化服务体系的逐步完善，小城镇公共图书馆越来越受到人们的重视。文章分析了我国小城镇公共图书馆发展现状和特点，研究了确定其服务定位的原则和策略，提出了小城镇公共图书馆六个方面的基本服务定位，研究成果对于小城镇公共图书馆的规划和建设具有一定的指导意义。
