Objective To investigate the nursing efficacy of menˊs adult diapers in patients with urinary incontinence following stroke.Methods We retrospectively analyzed 97 male patients with stroke admitted to Neurovascular Surgery Department of General Hospital of Armed Police Forces between July 2013 and December 2014.The patients were divided into treatment group (48 cases) and control group (49 cases), in whom urinary incontinence was managed with men ’s adult diapers and traditional care devices , re-spectively .We discussed the pros and cons of different urine collection devices by comparing urinary tract infections bed sores , genital skin swelling and ulceration and life quality of patients .Results There was statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of urine leukocyte count (71.4%for control group and 33.3%for treatment group, respectively, P<0.05).We also com-pared the urine culture positive rate .The difference was not significant prior to treatment , but 7,14, and 21 days after the treatment , urine culture positive rates were 16.3%, 24.5%, 34.7% for control group, and 6.3%, 14.6%, 18.8% for treatment group, re-spectively (P<0.05).Besides, adverse events of urine leakage , bed sores, genital swelling and ulceration were observed 7, 14 and 21 days after treatment.The difference was not significant 7 days after treatment;in control group, the occurrence rates after 14, 21 days were 24.1%, 32.6%(urine leakage), 10.2%, 16.3% (bed sores), 14.6%,24.5% (penis swelling), and 2.1%, 6.3%( genital skin ulceration ) .All the differences were statistically significant .14 days after treatment , we conducted a questionnaire ( In-continence quality of life, I-QOL) to the patients, and found statistically significant differences .Conclusions New type of men’s a-dult diapers help reduce the incidence of urinary tract infections , bed sores, penile swelling , ulceration, and some other complications , as well as improve life quality of patients .It is worthy of clinical popularization.%目的：探讨男性尿失禁（ urinary incontinence ，UI）引流尿裤应用于脑卒中后UI患者的护理疗效。方法选取我院神经血管外科2013－07至2014－12收治的脑卒中男性患者97例，随机分成观察组48例，对照组为49例。观察组应用自制男性UI引流尿裤，对照组采用传统护理装置。记录并分析两组使用后7、14、21 d尿常规中的白细胞计数、皮肤压疮、阴部皮肤红肿溃烂、生活质量评分。结果比较两组患者尿常规中的白细胞计数，对照组的总阳性率为71．4％，明显高于观察组的30．0％，差异有统计学意义（P＜0．05）。观察组治疗后7、14、21 d尿培养阳性率分别为6．3％、14．6％、18．8％，明显低于对照组的尿培养阳性率分别为16．3％、24．5％、34．7％，差异均有统计学意义（P＜0．05）；治疗7 d后，两组各项并发症（尿液外漏、压疮、阴部皮肤溃烂及阴茎红肿）比较，差异无统计学意义；而治疗14、21 d后两组的各项指标比较，对照组均高于观察组，差异有统计学意义（P＜0．05）。治疗14 d后，两组UI生活质量问卷（Incontinence quality of life，I－QOL）对比，对照组的各项指标和总评分均低于观察组，差异有统计学意义（P＜0．05）。结论新型男性UI引流尿裤，可明显降低尿路感染的发生率，减少了压疮、阴茎红肿、溃烂等诸多并发症的发生，改善患者的生活质量，值得临床推广。
