Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is an emerging respiratory virus.It was first isolated in 2001 and has become one of the most common pathogen of human respiratory viral infections.Although the virus was primarily known as causative agent of respiratory tract infections in children , HMPV is also an important cause of respiratory infections in adults.The immune duration of the virus infection is relatively short,and the infection can be repeated for life.HMPV infections usually are mild and self-limiting,but in the elderly and the immunocompromised patients,severe infections may occur.Since the virus is relatively diffi-cult to isolate,diagnosis is mostly based on a nucleic acid amplification test,such as reverse transcriptase pol-ymerase chain reaction,to date,no vaccine is available and supportive treatment is the main method .%人偏肺病毒（ HMPV）是2001年发现的新呼吸道病毒，现已成为人类呼吸道病毒感染的常见病原。 HMPV为儿童呼吸道感染的主要病原，但其同样可引起成人呼吸道感染。该病毒感染后免疫持续时间较短，可终身反复感染。 HMPV感染通常症状轻微且为自限性，但在抵抗力较弱的老年人及免疫缺陷人群，可引起重症感染。 HMPV诊断多依赖于反转录－聚合酶链反应等核酸扩增技术，到目前为止尚无疫苗，治疗多采用支持性疗法。
