中国共产党在革命、建设、改革三个历史阶段的自身建设，无不与科学认识、准确把握时代特征紧密相联。八十年党的建设的实践证明，科学认识时代特征，适应时代要求，与时俱进，是党的建设必须遵循的基本规律。江泽民同志提出的“三个代表”的重要思想，是反映时代特征，顺应时代要求，推进新世纪党的建设的伟大纲领。全党特别是党的各级领导干部，必须站在时代的高度，认真思考关于结合时代特征推进党的建设的若干重要问题，总结并运用这方面的历史经验，在“三个代表”重要思想的指引下，把党的建设与时代特征更加紧密地结合起来，继续推进新世纪党的建设的新的伟大工程，以顺利实现时代赋予我们党的伟大使命。%The Party building of CPC itself has been directly involved inthe scientific understanding and proper grasping of the features of the times in Party's three historical stages, i.e. revolution, reconstruction and reformation. It is proved as a basic rule that the Party must adapt itself to the features and needs of the times in her history of 80 years. Jiang Zemin's important concept of “Three Representations” is a great program to improve the Party building according to the features and needs of the times in the new millennium. So the whole Party in general and Party leaders at all levels in particular are expected to have a better understanding of the features of the times as well as the concept of “Three Representations” so as to fulfil the Party's great historical mission.
