开展 STEAM教育,提高学生创新能力--访美国 STEAM教育知名学者格雷特·亚克门教授

         

摘要

Virginia Tech University scholar Georgette Yakman proposed STEAMeducation (Science,Technology,Engi-neering,Arts,and Mathematics)on the basis ofSTEM Education .Georgette Yakman and her team constructed the framework ofSTEAMeducation,designed the teaching process card ofSTEAM education,conducted training certifi-cation ofSTEAMeducation.STEAM=Science &Technology interpreted through Engineering &the Arts,all based in Mathematics elements.STEAMeducation integrated different types ofsubjects,and constantly improved STEAMtheory through thematic studies and practical applications,to provide human resources support for the development ofmodern society. As a researchers and practitioners ofSTEAMeducation,she helped the United States,South Korea and other re-gional and international countries STEAMeducation,and has been widely recognized by the social organizations.In order to meet the STEAMeducation needs for different audiences,she designed and developed STEAMeducation web-site (http://steamedu.com/).Due to the outstanding achievements in the field ofSTEAMeducation,Georgette Yak-man was invited to host STEMmeetings in 2009 held by Virginia governor ;was nominated for the education expert of National Cable Television Cooperative announced by the Senate Mark Warner;was invited the spring graduation speaker in Virginia Tech University,was elected President ofthe Virginia Association for Science and Technology Edu-cation in 2010. Through this interview,we attempt to know the background,conceptual framework the future trends ofthe STEAMeducation from Georgette Yakman,and her recommendations about how to carry out the STEAM education programs in China.
