The quality of metal detector affects the continuity of production of tobacco cutting process and the consumption of spare parts. The distortion of detecting signals and undetected phenomenon often appear in operation of JTY-4 type metal detector, thus it is necessary to improve the instrument. The result of application indicates that the sensitivity and malfunction rate of the improved detector meet the requirement of the standard. Through the detector, the purity of the cut tobacco is enhanced; in addition, the damage and consumption of spare parts for blade and knife gate of tobacco cutter are reduced.
