This essay introduces the characteristics of the status of the former residences of celebrities in Suzhou from such five aspects as the number and distribution of the buildings, the basic situation of the buildings, the cultural tradition and conno-tation interpretation, jurisdiction status and funding situation, and analyzes the three existing problems, including insufficient influ-ence of the propaganda role and cultural benefits of the former residences, lack of management and protection measures and lack of funding sources.
