隐喻是我们日常生活中几乎每天都会遇到的语言现象，可以说，人类语言整体上是一个隐喻性的符号系统。“语法隐喻”这一术语是韩礼德在系统功能语法里首先提出来的。根据韩礼德的理论，隐喻既存在于词汇中也存在于语法中。在表达中语法形式如发生变化，那么这一现象便是语法隐喻。本文从语法隐喻出发，将其与英语教学结合，并探讨语法隐喻在英语教学中起到的重要作用。%Metaphor is a usual phenomenon in language. We can say that human language system is a semiotic system."Grammat-ical Metaphor" was first introduced by Halliday in his sys-temic-functional grammar. He said that grammatical metaphor exists not only in the level of lexicon but also in the level of grammar. This article is to discuss the importance of grammatical metaphor to English teaching.
