The paper analyzes the status in Xichang Region,some problems and operation features,researches the traffic volume in the region by combining with the second line scheme for the extension and reconstruction along Chengdu-Kunming Railway,points out factual extension and re-construction measure in Xichang,so it solves the mutual interruption and inconsistent match of points and lines with more efficient transportation organization and auxiliary capacity of lines and points,and it plays the positive role for exerting the routine traffic capacity.%通过对西昌地区现状及存在问题和运营特征进行分析，并结合成昆线扩能改造增建二线方案，对地区运量增长进行了研究，提出了西昌地区具体改扩建措施，解决了地区内技术作业相互干扰、点线能力不匹配的问题，使运输组织更加高效，点线能力更加配套，对充分发挥线路运能起到了积极作用。
