This paper discussed the importance of highway maintenance management in the new period,from the service function,traffic capacity, maintenance measures,operation safety,personnel training and other aspects,put forward the countermeasures of improving the quality of high-way maintenance,to meet the diversified travel capacity demand,effectively strengthened the highway service function.%论述了新时期公路养护管理的重要性，从服务功能、通行能力、养护措施、运营安全、人才培养等方面，提出了提升公路养护质量的对策，有利于满足群众多元化出行需求，有效增强公路服务功能。
