With the analysis of stereographic projection, this article realizes the operation of matrix and drawing of stereographic projection with MATLAB teaching tool and answers the questions of qualitative analysis in the stability of side slope and the slip direction of conjugate fracture. With the case of engineering, the practicality of automatic accomplishment of stereographic projection with MATLAB and application of it can be proved.%通过对极射赤平投影原理进行分析，利用MATLAB语言进行矩阵运算并绘制出赤平投影图，解决了边坡稳定性定性分析问题及共轭断裂滑移方向的定性分析问题，结合工程实例，证明了基于MATLAB技术的赤平投影自动化实现方法在工程地质中的实用性。
