关系与“读书无用论”--基于CGSS2006和CGSS2008调查数据的分析

         

摘要

已有关于“读书无用论”的研究只关注教育所获得的经济回报,忽略了从教育水平与收入水平一致性的角度来研究该问题。基于CGSS2006和CGSS2008数据,运用“地位不一致”理论,分析“关系”(政治资本、社会资本及家庭背景)对于教育地位与收入地位一致性的影响,发现家庭经济地位和社会资本对于提高收入地位具有正向作用,家庭经济条件越好,社会资本越优,教育“回报过度”(收入地位高于教育地位)的几率更大。但是,政治资本对于提升收入地位的效力下降,党员及体制内工作人员面临教育“回报不足”(收入地位低于教育地位)的可能性更大。所以,“关系”对于教育回报的影响较为复杂,无法一概而论。从这一角度而言,绝对的“读书无用论”并不成立。%Current literatures on the idea of “studying is useless” mainly focus on economic return of education, which has overlooked the consistency between income and education. Based on the data of CGSS2006 and CGSS2008, this paper uses the theory of status inconsistency in the analysis of relationship�s impact on status inconsistency between education and income. It finds that family economical position and social capital have positive effect on the return to education. However, political capital has negative effect on economic status promotion. It has more possibilities for the CCP party members to encounter inadequate returns of education. In short, the relationship�s impact on education return is complicated. Thus, the idea of“studying is absolutely useless” is unreliable.
