Over the past thirty years , large and even super-large architectural projects have mushroomed in China , which are almost internationally unparalleled in terms of their construction speed , number , variety of shapes , and floor space .As a consequence , those projects have triggered heated debates between the professional and the general public , which are in essence the manifestations of the conflicts and clashes among various aesthetic thoughts .It is hoped that doing research on those highly controversial aesthetic questions arising from our current major construction projects may lay the theoretical foundation and pave the way for building the high-tech landmark projects integrated with our traditional aesthetic elements .%过去三十年，中国大型、超大型建筑项目出现了爆发性增长，其建设速度之快、数量之巨、形式之新、争议之多、体量之大，世所罕见。这些项目引起专业人士和广大群众的激烈争辩，激辩的实质是各种审美思潮的碰撞和交锋。对这一激辩中的美学问题进行研究，有助于为建设既有高科技含量，又符合传统文脉的地标性工程进行相应的美学积累和准备。
