As an old mining city, Pingdingshan’s landscape quality is poor. During the process of urban transition, the development and construction of the central waterfront of Pingdingshan is hoped to promote its industrial restructuring, and to enhance the quality of its environment. This paper discusses the significance of central waterfront’s development, studies the planning and design methods of the areas of this kind, and finally summaries some good practices.%平顶山作为老的工矿城市,现代景观环境风貌质量较低。在城市面临转变发展方式的背景下,新城滨水中心区的开发建设,有利于促进产业转型,提升环境质量。本文探讨了滨水区开发在这个过程中的意义,从设计的角度研究了该类地段城市设计的方法,并总结了有价值的设计经验。
