Appellation language has been widely used in any language, which plays an important role in social etiquette.Appellation Language is not only a linguistic phenomenon, but also a social phenomenon.In this article, the author has comparatively studied Chinese and English Appellation Language from the cross-cultural perspective,analyzed the big differences in Chinese and English Appellation Language caused by the differences lying in religious beliefs, values and social structures, discussed the cultural factors behind the phenomenon.It certainly will promote inter-ethnic crosscultural communicative activities.%称谓语被广泛应用于各种语言中,起着重要的社交礼仪作用.称谓语不仅是一种语言现象,同时也是一种社会文化现象.本文从跨文化交流的视角就英汉称谓语进行了对比研究,分析了由于宗教信仰、价值观念和社会结构等方面的不同而导致的称谓语的差异,探讨了其背后的文化因素,便于使用这两种语言的人们之间的跨文化交流活动.
