The long tail theory is one new theory of the information age. The accumulated profits of the production and services whose consumption are small but category is huge exceed the mainstream production or services. The paper introduces the long tail theory into the field of online education, which will solve the problems that involve the diversity of education and the distribution of student, and the paper analyses the application of it in the education, and use the internet, information technology to improve the quality of the education.
