Around the world, thousands of high temperature records were broken in 2012, making summers hotter and stickier than ever. Meanwhile, weather forecasters are expecting the same pattern to continue into the foreseeable future. It's a situation that could make staying cool, calm, and dry a bit tricky. But existing, improved, and new textile technologies can offer a bit of relief, and heat reduction textiles that are already being incorporated into some sportswear products may soon find applications in day-to-day clothing.
