How effective would a "Principles of Parenting" class be for creating effective parents out of a class full of singles? In an ideal situation, management education would have the most value in the classroom when the students are all practicing managers. Yet, outside of executive MBA programs, the majority of students who enroll in management courses will not practice management for several years, if ever. Therefore, I advocate a different approach to management education that combines the rigor of liberal arts with the experience desired by the millennial generation-the historical perspective (Lawrence, 1984).
