By the time you read this introduction, the current editorial team will be halfway through our term of responsibility for new AMLE manuscript submissions. It certainly has been a quick 18 months, and during this time the team has become increasingly comfortable with managing the manuscript decision process. However, in the midst of recent conversations with the editorial team, it became apparent that although we may understand AMLE's submission and review process, we could do a much better job of communicating that process to our readers, authors, and potential authors.
