Once again, our Regional Leaders prove that size - in this case, the size of your market - isn't everything. While firms in the Mid-Atlantic Region pulled in the most revenue, with close to $3 billion, their average growth rate of 7.28 percent was actually below the national average for the Top 100 (8.43 percent). (This year, we switched from calcu- lating an overall regional growth rate to averaging individual firm performance.) The Leaders in the Mountain States, meanwhile, brought in a little more than a tenth of that revenue, but saw average growth of 8.91 percent, beating the national figure. Firms in the Southeast did the best, averaging 12.36 percent, with a big assist from a merger between two Top 100 Firms.
