Implementing a document management system is the first thing most organizations will think about when they envision a paperless office. Going paperless is important for reducing costs and saving the environment, as well as for improving service and competitive edge in the continually changing business world. Corporate accounting departments are paper intensive environments, as the role of the firm involves an increasing array of financial, accounting and litigation services, ranging from tax planning and preparation, to cash flow, budgeting analysis, and financial planning. In order to enhance productivity and client responsiveness, firms need to be able to spend more time cultivating relationships with their clients rather than searching through files.
