QuestionrnWhat is the relative efficacy of 12 new-generation antidepressantsrnfor relieving major depression?rnReview scopernIncluded studies were randomized controlled trials (RCTs) thatrncompared any of 12 new-generation antidepressants (bupropion,rncitalopram, duloxetine, escitalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine,rnmilnaciprin, mirtazapine, paroxetine, reboxetine, sertraline, andrnvenlafaxine) as monotherapy for acute-phase treatment of majorrndepression. Placebo groups and RCTs of postpartum depressionrnwere excluded. Outcomes were response and dropout rates atrn8 weeks.
