As this issue of Ad Astra goes to press, most of us have seen the premiere of the film by the same name, and most of us have been disappointed. It was not the message we hoped for, nor was it told in a fashion many would have preferred. In this space tale, humanity's future in space is dark, dangerous, and violent—with redemption for the human spirit to be found only back on Earth, on which resides the only intelligent life in the universe.
