Magnetic inhomogeneities that are probably caused by the phase segregation are found to exist in most of the R_(1-x)A'_xMO_3 (R - La, Nd, Y; A' = Sr; M = Mn, Co) compounds studied. The effects of phase segregation are more pronounced in La_(1-x)Sr_xCoO_3 where the sintering conditions are found to influence strongly on the magnetic properties of the system. Dynamic studies in low fields show that all of the studied compounds exhibit similarities with magnetically frustrated systems indicating a coexistence of competing interactions. The effects of frustration are even found in Nd_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_3; a CMR ferromagnet. In the compounds where the ferromagnetism is sufficiently diluted and/or weakened such as Nd_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)Mn_(1-y)Mg_yO_3 with y ≥ 0.2 and La_(0.95)Sr_(0.05)CoO_3 the spin-glass (SG) behaviour is clearly observed. While La_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)CoO_3 ,that was named "cluster-glass" (CG) in previous studies, shows many similarities with re-entrant ferromagnets the magnetic properties of Y_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_3 support a true CG system where short-range ferromagnetic correlations at high temperatures evolve to a SG state with lowering temperature.
