Commander David Hobbs is a major authority on British naval aviation history. I have always respected his advice about my own work in this field. I was therefore very interested to see how he would approach a subject in which I have already carried considerable research, the early development of British naval aviation. He has just produced this major work on this subject. I had great expectations; sadly, they were to be disappointed.
