One of the Society's strategic aims is to maintain, enhance and disseminate our body of knowledge across all aeronautical/aviation domains. As part of this goal, the National Aerospace Library in Farnborough provides an extensive collection devoted to the development of aeronautics, aviation and aerospace technology. I visited the NAL some weeks ago at the invitation of the librarians, and also met some of the volunteers who do a fantastic job repairing and preserving the 1,000s of books and reports that are housed there. I saw several notable historical items, including the first ever minutes of the British and Colonial Aircraft Company (which eventually became today's Airbus site at Filton) which were signed by the company's founder, Sir George White, whose name is part of my job title at the University of Bristol. I encourage you all to have a look at this valuable resource.
