On 14 May, the UK Government announced that it will move ahead with the final stages of negotiations for the Tranche 3 of Eurofighter for the RAF, unblocking the logjam that has previously held up the project. The decision comes as a relief for Eurofighter and its other customers. The RAF originally foresaw a requirement for 232 of the fighters, with production to be split into three 'Tranches'. Having ordered 140 aircraft for Tranche 1 + 2, the UK was accused by partner nations of dragging its heels in signing for the final 92.
