The Mexican Navy (Armada de Mexico) took delivery of its first of ten upgraded AS565 MBe Panther helicopters on September 28. Airbus Helicopters expects to deliver three more examples to the Mexican Navy (its first customer for the type) by December 31 and the remaining six by early 2018. Units based La Paz and Minatitlan will operate the aircraft for search and rescue, disaster relief transportation and evacuation, drug enforcement and coastal protection.
