Fourteen student military aviators are preparing to become the last to fly the Beechcraft T-34C Turbo Mentor from Naval Air Station (NAS) Whiting Field, Florida. The aspiring pilots commenced primary phase ground school on October 17 and will be the last to fly the T-34C prior to Training Air Wing Five (TAW-5) fully transitioning to the Beechcraft T-6B Texan II. The composition of the class is representative of today's joint-force military training. Navy, marines, coast guard and air force junior officers were present at the first all-hands muster of TAW-5's primary aviation Class 12-030.
