Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 23 (VX-23) 'Salty Dogs' concluded testing of the EA-18G Growler H8E Software Configuration Set in November with Salty Dog 521, NEA-18G Growler BuNo 166899/'SD52V. The new software build provides cockpit improvements including jammer footprints, air-to-ground multi-source integration, CCS manual threshold (THOLD), emitter power levels, AARGM interface, off board jammer requests and automatic parametrics through Link 16. Operational testing of the H8E software is expected to start with VX-9 'Vampires' at NAWS China Lake in early 2012.
