The Fuerza Aerea Paraguaya (FAP, Paraguayan Air Force) has recently received a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, (FAP 0250, ex N51444), which was handed over at the Cessna facility at Wichita, Kansas. It is equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics and will join Grupo Aereo de Transportes Especiales (GATE) at Base Aerea Sivio Pettirossi, Asuncion. Under current plans, a second Grand Caravan will be delivered by mid-2012, while the intention is to operate at least six of the aircraft in the transport, liaison and medical evacuation roles. The new arrival is the first transport aircraft to join the FAP since 2003.
