Boeing has completed upgrading the Royal New Zealand Air Force's fleet of six Lockheed P-3K2 Orion maritime surveillance aircraft with new acoustic processors and training simulation technology, the company announced on August 15, 2019. The $22 million upgrade contract was awarded in 2016 and included upgrades and modifications to the Orion's mission systems and aircraft components, together with in-flight and ground-based simulation for training, spares and maintenance support. It represents the first time that the systems have been integrated with a P-3 airframe.
