On July 10 at the Fleet Air Arm's annual airshow at RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset, AgustaWestland and Thales unveiled their next generation airborne surveillance and control (ASaC) capability. Using the Cerberus mission system and Searchwater 2000 radar already proven in the Sea King ASaC7 as a starting point, mated to the larger AW101 airframe, the companies are promoting the capability as a low-cost, low-risk option for the role.
