THE CESSNA SkyCourier twin turboprop utility aircraft is now undergoing flight testing, with five 'test articles' involved (three ground articles and two aircraft). The first prototype flew on May 17,2020. The Cessna SkyCourier is offered as a 6,000lb (2,721kg) payload-capable freighter, a 19-seat passenger airliner or in a 'combi' passenger/freight combination, All variants are based on a common platform powered by two 1,100hp (820kW) Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65SC engines, using single-point pressure refuelling as standard to enable faster turnarounds, and Garmin G1000 NXi avionics. Cessna parent company Textron Aviation says the SkyCourier "is designed for high utilisation and will deliver a combination of robust performance and lower operating costs". The type will have maximum cruise speed of up to 200kts (370km/h) and 900nm (1,700km) range. FedEx Express Airlines is the SkyCourier's launch customer, placing an order in 2019 for 100 examples (50 firm, 50 options).
