Hungary's Saab JAS 39C/D Gripen fighters will become responsible for policing Slovenia's airspace as part of NATO air defences. An agreement was signed by the two countries' defence ministers, Csaba Hende of Hungary and Roman Jakic of Slovenia, at Kecskemet AB on January 17. Both national parliaments need to ratify the deal before it can be implemented.
