The Russian Air Force in the Far Eastern Military District has received almost 100 new or upgraded aircraft in the course of 2011, its spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Igor Migunov recently revealed. He identified the aircraft as including two new-production Sukhoi Su-30M2 tactical aircraft, 46 upgraded Sukhoi Su-27SM fighters (mainly upgraded from Su-27 standard at the Komsomolsk-na-Amur factory) and 12 upgraded Sukhoi Su- 25SM attack aircraft. Also on the list were: 12 Ka-52 attack helicopters (based at Chernigovka, Maritime Territory, with crew conversion training currently ongoing) and eight new production Mil Mi-8AMTSh helicopters.
