A 2008 French-Ukraine agreement to upgrade Mil Mi-24 Hind attack helicopters is to be revived under an agreement signed in Paris on December 2, 2011. The new contract between Ukraine's state arms producer Ukroboronprom and France's Sagem is intended to restart the 2008 upgrade programme to modernise Ukraine'5 Hind force with French avionics and night vision equipment at the Konotop-based Aviakon state aircraft repair plant. The Hinds will also receive the TV3-117VMA SBM1V engines made by Ukraine's Motor-Sich joint stock company at its Zaporizhzhya factory and be equipped to operate Ukrainian anti-tank guided missiles.
