Boeing C-135FR Stratotanker 23525/V3-CN' (c 18508) of Groupe de Ravitaillement en Vol 02.091 'Bretagne' carries special markings on its tail to commemorate the 70th anniversary of its unit's establishment. It traces its heritage back to the formation of the Croupe Bretagne of the Forces Aeriennes Frangaises Libres (Free French Air Force) on January 1, 1942. The Cross of Lorraine at the top of the tanker's fin was the insignia of all the Free French forces in World War Two. The French Stratotanker fleet is based at Istres-Le Tube but has deployments at Manas International Airport in Kyrgyzstan to support Operation Serpentaire over Afghanistan and at N'Djamena International Airport, Chad, for Operation Epervier.
