Blackbirds routinely flew at speeds in excess of three times the speed of sound (Mach 3+) at altitudes in excess of 80,000 feet, and they flew reconnaissance sorties in parts of the world that most of us visit only when reading travel magazines. While an individual who invested so much time in the SR program might feel somewhat bitter about the Air Force decision to cancel the program, Graham comes across as an unbiased author proud to write about this unique aircraft and the missions it flew.
