LYLE PROUSE has told the story many times, several hundred probably. It's a good story. And he's a good storyteller-always has been, says his wife, Barbara. He begins each retelling with the same line, and with a grumbling delivery that seems to indicate he is sharing the tale under duress. "I was the first pilot to be arrested, tried, and convicted for flying drunk. I went to federal prison, and my inmate number was 04478-041."
