The Bombardier CSeries is poised to enter commercial service July 15 when Swiss International Air Lines' first CS100 is placed on the Zurich-Paris Charles de Gaulle route. The CS100's entry-into-service comes after years of CSeries program delays and stalled sales efforts, but Bombardier executives believe the Canadian manufacturer's entry into the narrowbody airliner sector has gained traction this year. The latest positive development for the CSeries program came in mid-June when the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and FAA granted type certification to the CS100, building on the CSIOO's original type certification from Transport Canada in December 2015. The larger CS300's certification by Transport Canada is expected imminently.
