"For us, it was a no-brainer, a marriage made in heaven," CTC Aviation president Rob Clarke said, describing the acquisition of UK-based training business CTC Aviation by L-3 Communications, parent to L-3 Link Simulation & Training. L-3 Link Simulation & Training UK, which formed after the US company bought the London Gatwick-based civil training business of Thales, was already a close partner. "Years ago, we approached CTC Aviation because they are fast-growing and have similar values," L-3 Link UK managing director Alan Crawford said. "Simply working together wasn't sticky enough for customers." This led to the acquisition, which was completed in May.
